With holidays in abundance ranging from national burger day to national cat day (yes, these are real holidays), it only seems fair that there would be a national cookie day. Cookies are amazing, obviously, and are such a staple that everyone loves! Can you think of anyone who doesn’t like cookies?
In honor of national cookie day, bake some up with you favorite cookie loving friends. Here are just a few of the recipes I’ve shared on my blog you could try!
Also, a sneak peek at the cookies I will be posting a recipe for next week: Peanut Butter Cocoa Swirl Cookies. You may just have to celebrate national cookie day again next Tuesday…
Thumbprint Cookies – Perfect for Christmas coming up! These are my favorite buttery, jam filled cookies of the season.
Oreo Reese’s – Are they cookies? Are they candy? Does it really matter? You don’t even have to bake to make a batch of them, and they pair two godly desserts into one.
Cookie Dough Truffles – Another non-baking cookie recipe. Simple, fast, and addicting!
There’s just something about Sunday mornings that inspires me to make brunch. Maybe it’s the openness of the day, or the fact that I’ve spent the last couple of nights splurging on dinners out, but it seems to happen just about every week. Although I’m smitten with just about every breakfast food imaginable, French toast is my favorite. Continue reading “Strawberry Mint French Toast Recipe”
I love bread. It’s comforting, soft, snackable, and spreadable with butter and jam. Is there really anything better? Continue reading “Basic French Bread Recipe for Newbies”

I have to tell to you all, I had never done many of these things before my most recent cake project and have successfully made many 2 layer round cakes. But once I was thinking about going for a 4 layer cake for my roomie’s birthday, I knew I needed to get serious. Continue reading “Avoiding the Leaning Tower: All of the Layer Cake Tips You Need!”
With all the cold weather heading out the door and the sunshine pouring through my windows here in Houston, I was inspired to squeeze some citrus! And what goes better with lemons and limes than raspberry, am I right? Continue reading “Raspberry Topped Lemon-Lime Squares Recipe”
I have a confession to make. I really do enjoy boxed cake. It’s easy, cheap, and failsafe. The main reason boxed cake can be so amazing though, is because of homemade buttercream frosting! It’s to die for and really not a huge deal to make. Making your own frosting takes a boxed cake to the next level and really gives the cake an overall homemade taste. Skip the old canned frosting next time and try this homemade buttercream frosting. I dare you to not lick the bowl! How many bakers in their 20s own a bundt? Shockingly, the art of using bundt pans was lost somewhere between frightening jello molds and fruit cakes back in the day… But there’s a reason to bring this old-fashioned cake pan back: Funeral Cake. Truth is, people will die (hehehe) for this easy to make and surprisingly delicious cake. Continue reading “Funeral Cake Recipe: The bundt pan’s death wish”
