August is the month in Houston where everyone either stays indoors permanently to avoid overall stickiness, or they accept the fact that their faces are going to melt off and drink a whole lot of ice cold wine and beer. I fall somewhere in the middle of these two groups. Continue reading “Raspberry Cucumber Rosé Cocktail”→
Until last weekend I had never had a michelada before. Honestly, I asked a lot of Houstonians and they had the same answer. I think we need to reconsider our life choices, y’all. We’ve all heard of a bloody mary (yum.), but what about it’s beer based cousin? Continue reading “Michelada Popsicle Cocktails”→
A couple of weeks ago Megan and I tried to plan a happy hour with our girl friends, but to our dismay everyone was busy. It then proceeded to hail golf ball sized pieces of ice in Houston, so the two of us decided to have a night in with cocktails and the HBO Go movie selection. NOTE: I AM NOT TRYING TO RUSH YOU OUT OF SUMMER MODE.
But pumpkin spiced things are on their way and I am a-okay with that!

Inspired Taste has come up with this homemade pumpkin spiced latte recipe, and I’m thinking it’s going to have to be on my to do list this season. Or y’all can try it out first and let me know how it goes!
But don’t worry, I still plan to eat as much watermelon and sit by the pool as many times as possible before it starts to cool off. Lucky for me it’s basically Summer all year long here in Texas!
Smoothies are so sneaky. I absolutely love that I can throw tons of fruits and vegetables into a blender and all you taste is sweet yumminess. It’s like taking a salad and ending up with ice cream. If that isn’t everything you’ve ever wanted, I don’t know what is! As we head into a week of rain and more possible flooding here in Houston, I am stocking my body up with good things like this Berry Beet Smoothie (knowing I will be stocking it with beans and canned tuna if the power subsides…).
