Have you been holding out on chokers like I have? My obsession with the 90’s started with the music and ended at the TV shows. I never thought I would find myself donning flannel and chokers again… until 2016 hit. Fashion trends are so cyclical, and though it sometimes takes me a little while to think, “OK, it does look cool again.”, I usually embrace them in the end.
When it comes to jewelry, I can be pretty picky. I’m not into huge statement pieces or the teeny tiny delicate ones. I like a little color and a little bit of sparkle, and it has to be comfortable to wear (you will never find me wearing stacked rings). Oh, and I’m working with that beer budget, y’all. I can’t get over it. It’s taken over my life – from kitchens to, now, necklaces! No matter how much carrera marble you throw at me, I find that I will love it even more than I had before.
Elegant, bright, and beautifully natural, this stone has taken over the design markets. But not without a cost. So when I spotted this marble necklace tutorial from A Beautiful Mess I was thrilled to find it was made from cheap clay! Buy some clay, swirl it together, and throw it on a chain; you’ll look like a million bucks. My kind of Fri-DIY. Have a great weekend sporting this chic accessory!
During a fabulous day floating down the Guadalupe River with some great friends, I slipped my head back to relax and tragically lost my favorite sunnies to the water. Ok, they were only $15 sunglasses, but as I squinted all the way home from Austin, I HAD to detour before going home to pick up some new ones…and found the exact same pair I had purchased before at Urban at Target!
